Your rights, our obligations, and how we handle your personal data on the Authority.Coffee Careers platform.

By accessing, browsing, or using the Authority.Coffee Careers platform ("the Platform"), including any associated websites, applications, tools, or services operated at authority.coffee, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, you must stop using the Platform immediately.
By creating an account, submitting a job application, posting a vacancy, or otherwise interacting with the Platform, you enter into a binding agreement with Authority.Coffee.
Authority.Coffee Careers is a job board and talent platform that connects coffee industry professionals (candidates) with hospitality and food-and-beverage employers across the United Arab Emirates and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The Platform is owned and operated by Authority.Coffee, a Dubai-licensed business based in the United Arab Emirates.
The Platform also provides market intelligence, advisory content, analytical tools, and related recruitment services.
To use the Platform, you must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into binding agreements under the laws of your jurisdiction. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
Certain features of the Platform require you to create an account. When doing so, you agree to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.
The Platform offers both free and paid tiers for employers and candidates.
The Platform includes a Talent Marketplace where employers can browse anonymised candidate profiles and, subject to their subscription plan, reveal candidate contact details under the following terms:

By accepting these Terms of Service and the Authority.Coffee Privacy Policy, employers acknowledge that they act as independent data controllers for any candidate personal data received through the Platform and accept the data handling obligations set out in these terms and in section 2.5a of the Privacy Policy. This acceptance constitutes a binding data sharing arrangement between the employer and Authority.Coffee for the purposes of the UAE PDPL.
Authority.Coffee reserves the right to suspend or remove employers who violate these obligations, without prior notice and without refund.
Employers advertising positions based in the United Arab Emirates must comply with the following:
The Platform serves employers and candidates across the GCC region, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. While these Terms of Service are governed by UAE law, employers operating in other GCC jurisdictions remain independently responsible for compliance with the labour laws, data protection regulations, and employment regulations of those jurisdictions. Authority.Coffee makes no representation that compliance with UAE law constitutes compliance with the laws of other GCC states.
All content on the Platform, including but not limited to text, design, graphics, logos, tools, reports, articles, algorithms, and branding, is the intellectual property of Authority.Coffee unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, or republish any content without prior written permission from Authority.Coffee.
Content you submit to the Platform (such as your CV, profile information, or job listings) remains your property. By submitting content, you grant Authority.Coffee a non-exclusive licence to use and display that content solely as necessary to operate the Platform and provide its services to you. Identifiable personal data will only be shared as described in the Privacy Policy. Authority.Coffee may use fully anonymised, aggregated data derived from Platform content for market research, analytics, and industry reporting.
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable UAE law:
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by applicable UAE law.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms of Service, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the Platform. Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@authority.coffee or through the account settings page. Upon account deletion, we will process the removal of your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy below.
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.
Before initiating formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation for a period of not less than thirty (30) days.
Authority.Coffee reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users or through a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Authority.Coffee and its service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:
Employers specifically indemnify Authority.Coffee against any claims, regulatory actions, fines, or legal proceedings arising from:
This indemnification obligation survives termination of your account or these Terms of Service.
Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond that party's reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, pandemic, internet or telecommunications outages, power failures, cyberattacks, or the failure of third-party service providers.
If any provision of these Terms of Service is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable subscription terms presented at the time of purchase, constitute the entire agreement between you and Authority.Coffee regarding your use of the Platform, and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, representations, warranties, and understandings, whether written, oral, or implied.
This Privacy Policy explains how Authority.Coffee collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use the Authority.Coffee Careers platform. This policy is designed to comply with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, and its implementing regulations.

By accepting these Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, employers acknowledge these obligations and agree to be bound by them. Authority.Coffee is not responsible for how employers process, store, or secure candidate personal data after it has been shared through the Platform.
Personal data collected through the Platform is hosted on servers operated by IONOS/Fasthosts in the United Kingdom. The transfer of personal data from the UAE to the United Kingdom is performed in accordance with the UAE PDPL through appropriate safeguards, including the UK's adequacy status under GDPR and contractual data protection terms with our hosting provider.
Additionally, Google Analytics (GA4) and Stripe process certain data outside the UAE as described in section 2.5. Google Analytics data is anonymised and aggregated. Stripe processes employer payment data only and does not handle candidate personal data. Contractual safeguards consistent with the UAE PDPL are in place for both providers.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a personal data breach likely to result in high risk to your rights, we will notify affected individuals and the UAE Data Office within seventy-two (72) hours of becoming aware of the breach, as required by the UAE PDPL.
Authority.Coffee conducts Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) before undertaking processing activities that are likely to result in a high risk to the rights and privacy of data subjects, in accordance with Article 21 of the UAE PDPL. DPIAs will be conducted for any new processing activities involving large-scale processing of sensitive personal data, significant automated processing, or new technologies that materially change how personal data is handled.

You may permanently delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Delete Account. This action is immediate and cannot be reversed.
The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
A cookie consent notice is displayed on your first visit to the Platform. You can manage or disable non-essential cookies through that notice or through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using the Platform.
We use Google Analytics 4 via the Osano consent manager. Cookies are set only after you opt in via the cookie consent banner.
The Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete that data promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@authority.coffee.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or Platform functionality. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email or through a prominent notice on the Platform.
